I suspect these errors accumulate in the distance covered measure so I'd be surprised if Garmin ever got the distance bang on. Over or under-estimation will almost always be the norm.Brian Mchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15064238067644519267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5039390797669625550.post-55663692587814805652008-03-10T15:10:00.000+00:002008-03-10T15:10:00.000+00:00Great race Debbie. I very much doubt the course was long - you would normally expect your GPS to show the course as longer than the standard 13.1 miles, as the course has to be measured by the shortest possible route. Your Garmin will reord the distance you actually ran,and as you are unlikely to have taken every bend by the shortest route, that will explain the extra distance! I'd be a lot more concerned if your Garmin suggested it was less than 13.1 miles - then it is definitely short :)ianbeattie1https://www.blogger.com/profile/04456828623243663117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5039390797669625550.post-72893008708356003782008-03-09T18:16:00.000+00:002008-03-09T18:16:00.000+00:00Congratulations to you and Marco.
